Vintage Goodies
Here's a sneak preview of just a couple of the items that I'll be taking along with me to the Handmade Market at Yarralumla Woolshed, Canberra on Saturday 21st Nov. These beauties are made from original vintage fabric.
The first is a seriously cool 1950s print featuring Mayan characters and their crazy goings on. The second is a 60s/70s print featuring sheep, horses, men fishing, kids playing, flowers, trees, houses... It's fantastic!
I'll have some ceiling shades and table lamps available in both prints but they are seriously limited in numbers!
By the way, unfortunately I won't have an eftpos machine at the market - really sorry about that. Hope to see you there this Saturday!

Lamps going a bit crazy!
Eeek! I'm really sorry but I've had to cancel my stall at the Old Bus Depot Market in Canberra this Sunday (28th June). Online sales have been going a bit crazy so I just haven't got enough stock left to do the market this time. I'm working like crazy creating more lamps though so fingers crossed I'll be at the market in 2 weeks time. In the meantime check out my online shop for all the latest lamps - I'll be adding some new one's later on today.

New lamps on their way
After a whole month overseas (twice as long as planned!) I'm finally back and getting on with creating some new lamps. I've just listed 2 pairs today on my online shop. It's quite a novelty having matching pairs of lamps because I very rarely find matching vintage lampbases! Also for the first time I've got some lampshades only (i.e without bases) almost ready to list so watch this space.

The Owls Are Hunting
The aim of the Owls Are Hunting is to combine my love of retro styling, amazing fabric and salvaged items to create beautiful lamps and lampshades.
My items are all unique one-offs and are created from a combination of genuine vintage lamp bases and carefully selected fantastic new fabrics and trims.
Last month I took my lamps to the old bus depot market in Canberra for the first time and had a great response from shoppers and fellow stallholders. I plan to do the old bus depot market on the last Sunday of every month starting on the 28th June 2009.
If you can't wait that long then check out my online shop:
